A slope failure occurred on a 19 metres high slope of the landfill within the Drumheller Institution in Drumheller, Alberta. Houle Chevrier Engineering Ltd. was retained by Franz Environmental, on behalf of Public Works and Government Services Canada, to provide geotechnical services for the preliminary design, detailed design, and construction review of the stabilization of the slopes at a landfill.
Project components included:
- Rotational slope stability analyses of various design options
- Design of surface water mitigation measures
- Assist Franz Environmental with options assessment, costing and design document preparation
- Full time field supervision during the construction
